To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance – Oscar Wilde

I spent the last two days trying so hard to be nice and to find something nice to say about love. I never was a roses and chocolate kind of girl. Honestly, I still don’t understand why anyone wants to celebrate Vday! ❤ ! Do we really need an excuse to celebrate love? I never did! We live in a world where people accept heartbreak faster than love itself. We accept standards set by people We barely know and bury personal desires.

But what better way to put in in Kohli’s own Words on Instagram

“Everyday is a valentine day if you want it to be. You make everyday seem like one for me ❤❤. @anushkasharma”

“There’s never one sunrise the same or one sunset the same” – Carlos Santana

When you keep reading the runway trends again and again, your bound to start seeing patterns even if they don’t exist! I’ve been buying Orange long before it became a part of the sunset hues trend. However, I was a little disappointed when I didn’t find those good versions of tangerine orange anywhere. It was only a few days back when I was looking for something to wear to a meeting I got the idea for this particular outfit. The distorted white shirt has also become a trend. Palazzo + white shirts are my all time favorites. tangerine5

Sometimes, I’m not sure of why I choose certain pairings. Like this one! So the dress is an everyday staple but so are the cotton dupatta and nude pumps. Together it’s not so much of an amazing outfit, but truth is this the warmest winter dress I’ve ever owned. The soft warmth of the dupatta and heavy cozy blanket-like feel of the dress felt amazing.

Hope you have a great Sundayold-black-dress7old-black-dress6old-black-dress4old-black-dress2old-black-dress3.old-black-dress1old-black-dress5

War of the worlds : cold winds vs warm sun

I love Bangalore during winters, It’s cold but still warm. the air is freezing but the sun still shines warm. When it’s warm a strange gust of wind will settle the heat score table. warm but cold at the same time. Only downside it’s always dark by 6. So how am I getting away in the cold with a sleeveless dress. Simple, don’t forget to wear your thermals inside. Don’t like thermals? OK then get urself a light weight foldable trench coat. when it gets cold don’t forget to pull it over.

#rethinkdesi Or Not

green-palazzo-pants1

Go ahead and call me boring and old school and whatever your little adolescent mind thinks of, But I will say it because it does bother me how you’ll killed the rethink desi style during Diwali! (Forgive me I don’t come from a generation where saying killed or slaying means anything good) Please don’t get me wrong but it is amazing how the bigger brands decided to drag the mature bloggers too into the #rethinkdesi trend. P.S. proves none of you actually do wear Indian ethnic clothing, Because if you did then you would know the wearing a saree over denim will have you tripping over the pleats as soon as you step forward!

When there is a twining effect with trends and traditions

Sometimes trends have overlapping effects. Just like when all those tunics with slits and maxis with high slits came into style and they were everywhere! nowadays the trend is to stick one leg out. Special thanks to Ciara who popularized it with her red carpet outfits and long legs. Well, right now I’m just a petite stout chic trying to adapt an international trend with a somewhat ethnic short kurta. Personally, I feel the style adaptation is a fail but the outfit for me is a pure comfort zone 😍 cotton tunic oversized shawl with sneakers and boyfriend jeans

Btw is that a union jack around my neck? I’d like to say no though the print is a grunge version of the flag. remember that time when the MOD culture adaptations were everywhere! yeah I just picked this one up because it was soft and no matter how you wear it, you probably will never see the flag

Who remembers the frenzy for animal prints? Oh! they have happened too many times. Yet they keep coming back in style. The same way this shirt is a classic, and although the arm bands are a bit tight I can never get rid of this top without good reason. I was smiling more than usual during this shoot! I blame it o the skirt. In the October issue, Elle made a cheetah print feature which gave me the perfect excuse to style this top

Sometimes we make an error of strange proportions just because we aspire to be something we are not. Like right now I know I’ve grown fat but my heart greatly desires to fit into my S sized outfit. Yes guilty as charged the maroon linen dress is an S. So I’ve had to alternately style it to fit my current situation because of my grave desire to wear it! I wouldn’t dare to call it my best styling in my Fatty situation, but hey! My fat situation has made me wear a lot of styles I don’t like

We all have our comfort zone when we travel. Some of us have separate clothes we keep aside specifically for travel, Like my dad who loves his double pocket shirts to store all his junk because it falls out of pant pockets. Yes! I do too have an obsession for pockets but it can be on any piece of the outfit not just the pant. But Every time I choose my travel outfits I keep certain very specific needs in mind.

  1. Pockets – yes because sometimes I wanna stuff those 200ml bottles of juice in my pocket
  2. Stretch fits – always, I’m even ok with tights as long as i have unrestricted movements. Once I wore my boyfriend jeans but the loose fit did save me from tripping over my own feet while climbing down.
  3. shoes – Need to protect my delicate feet from the dirt, bad weather, and long walks. I’m not kidding about the walking. Can anyone name one tourist destination that doesn’t involve walking, no wonder travel is good for your health
  4. small travel bag – Oh yes! a bag too small but big enough to be equal to the biggest handbag you’ve ever carried. believe it or not, for 3 or 4 days of travel, the bag is just big enough!
  5. Covering layer – Probably the most taken granted for by most people. My mom’s robbed my dad of his jacket so many times (But of course he’s always prepared for his wife’s tantrums). I’ve always either carried a light jacket  or a warm shawl sometimes both. you don’t have to carry an oversized jacket if you pick the right outfit layers. At times a good scarf can save you from the sun.
  6. sunglasses – Just because the weather is cold the sun won’t stop shining and I am half blind in bright sunlight.
  7. Jewelry that doesn’t have to come off– this is the part that makes me sick. Unless you are traveling with a specific agenda, pick out some basics. over the years I’ve preferred to wear my tiny gold or diamond jewelry rather than my fancy pieces just because I don’t have to take them off, even while taking bath.

If you have any suggestions or further improvisation on picking out my travel clothes leave a comment below.
