Travel becomes a strategy for accumulating photographs – Susan Sontag

As kids, we run on certain assumptions. Assumptions that have never been corrected by fact because you had no reason to believe you could be wrong. Like this fav hand knitted sweater that’s been at home for as long as  I can remember. For many years I assumed that the sweater was my grandmother’s. When my mom wanted to give it away I picked it up and throw it to the bottom of my closet. occasionally it would surface when it get’s ridiculously cold. Like in the past few days the oceanic depression cause winter rains.

What better day than to wear it on the evening you wanna escape for a drive?

Sometimes, I’m not sure of why I choose certain pairings. Like this one! So the dress is an everyday staple but so are the cotton dupatta and nude pumps. Together it’s not so much of an amazing outfit, but truth is this the warmest winter dress I’ve ever owned. The soft warmth of the dupatta and heavy cozy blanket-like feel of the dress felt amazing.

Hope you have a great Sundayold-black-dress7old-black-dress6old-black-dress4old-black-dress2old-black-dress3.old-black-dress1old-black-dress5

War of the worlds : cold winds vs warm sun

I love Bangalore during winters, It’s cold but still warm. the air is freezing but the sun still shines warm. When it’s warm a strange gust of wind will settle the heat score table. warm but cold at the same time. Only downside it’s always dark by 6. So how am I getting away in the cold with a sleeveless dress. Simple, don’t forget to wear your thermals inside. Don’t like thermals? OK then get urself a light weight foldable trench coat. when it gets cold don’t forget to pull it over.

You know that mismatched outfit that just seems so right, and you feel really good about it when it’s the OOTD! well on the day of the shoot I was wondering what had gotten into me to wear this pairing? I guess I was missing the right attitude to get the wrong outfit work for today! P.S. I originally wore the outfit to a seminar being hosted on a Sunday.

What do you think?mismatched-outfit1

Is it winter yet?

Well! a few days back I would have said NO! cause my skin still felt like baked potato peels, roasting into crisp wafers.

Now I will say YES! It is winter, well it has started getting cold. I walked out of the house today hoping that I didn’t need a jacket because my full sleeves should keep me warm and when I got off the taxi I was wondering why did I forget to carry my shawl at least?!oversized5

A trend that makes me feel like a starry-eyed kid again

Yes! I feel like a kid! Because when I was really small and my mom used to stitch my frocks she used to attach little patchwork pieces to my dresses, But of course the were more age appropriate, things like grapes, flowers, birds etc… Now I feel like a kid wearing an adult trend. Non the less my favorite form of art is Pop art and this trend makes me very happy.

It took me some time to pick out this one from everything I saw in the market, Mostly because everything else felt too kiddish to be worn out of the house. However, When I ordered it I was expecting an orange But I was awfully surprised to find something mustard looking in the package. Have you ever had clothes that change colour? this one does. It looks a lot more orange in sunlight. Try it the shirt is still very comfortable. It’s a little disappointing to see some of the younger bloggers style the shirt like a picnic outfit and kill it with their saturated editing!

#rethinkdesi Or Not

green-palazzo-pants1

Go ahead and call me boring and old school and whatever your little adolescent mind thinks of, But I will say it because it does bother me how you’ll killed the rethink desi style during Diwali! (Forgive me I don’t come from a generation where saying killed or slaying means anything good) Please don’t get me wrong but it is amazing how the bigger brands decided to drag the mature bloggers too into the #rethinkdesi trend. P.S. proves none of you actually do wear Indian ethnic clothing, Because if you did then you would know the wearing a saree over denim will have you tripping over the pleats as soon as you step forward!

They judge you a lot in Paris, It’s a judgemental city

I found the quote on the refinery69 but here is the thing, if you’ve been to Paris you’d know what the hype is about. Everything about the french is a perfect visual delight (but that’s where it stopped for me! Not a fan of the coffee I had in Paris unlike Italy) That’s why the so-called french styles are popular. I’ve read too many articles about being a Parisian chic but every time I see something Parisian It’s typically fitted at the waist, very girly detailing, and super flirty. It’s cute against the very tailored Italian fits or the blocked cozy New york silhouette.
I Don’t understand french styling but the end result of this particular styling made me wonder is my own sense styling very similar to the french? so I did a little research about how to be Parisian chic. So here is a simple list of thing to be done and voilà you are done.
1. Don’t style your hair, cut it short and leave it messy.
No! I’m not kidding, I read a fellow blogger say, the french don’t blow dry, colour, accessorise, or even walk out of the house with wet hair! That Is pretty much the story of my hair. and ever since I cut my hair it’s gone from fairly maintained to zero maintenance!
2. Small bags
They need to be just the right size to sit on your lap when you are sitting in a cafe having coffee and having long discussions.
3. Perfect coordinations
You could wear 10 different pieces together but they should come together as a theme.
4. perfect or nothing make-up
The younger you are the lesser colour is required in the makeup! just like it doesn’t exist, the older you get the more perfect the makeup gets! like your straight out of the pretty magazines.
5.gold and fur to go with it.
Not so much fur please but surely gold in everything
6. The one thing I’m missing are the sunglasses!

When there is a twining effect with trends and traditions

Sometimes trends have overlapping effects. Just like when all those tunics with slits and maxis with high slits came into style and they were everywhere! nowadays the trend is to stick one leg out. Special thanks to Ciara who popularized it with her red carpet outfits and long legs. Well, right now I’m just a petite stout chic trying to adapt an international trend with a somewhat ethnic short kurta. Personally, I feel the style adaptation is a fail but the outfit for me is a pure comfort zone 😍 cotton tunic oversized shawl with sneakers and boyfriend jeans

Btw is that a union jack around my neck? I’d like to say no though the print is a grunge version of the flag. remember that time when the MOD culture adaptations were everywhere! yeah I just picked this one up because it was soft and no matter how you wear it, you probably will never see the flag
